-------------------------Interview-------------------------

Q: Could you please provide a brief history of your company and the type of services you offer?

Business has only two functions - marketing and innovation. We help both small and larger business find those functions. Founded in 2014 between myself Ray Rudy and LeMar L. Joichin III, and named after Eadweard Muybridge who is known for being a pioneer photographer and graphics in motion pictures. Muybridge Media was created for the need to help small and medium business have one clear marketing message though all digital and print platforms. Most businesses we come across have several people creating their marketing materials, which to us means there is going to be three different styles of content describing your business. This can become confusing to your potential customers and clients.

We believe we have found a niche that sets us apart for other media companies, by combining our talents to give every business a chance to compete. We have a one-stop shop platform for business to get all there marketing designs ranging from graphics to even video commercials.

Q: How would you describe your design style/aesthetic?

The way I usually design is by creating sleek and simple designs but placing them in a way to look unique. I use negative space to my advantage as most designers would see negative space as empty, wasted space. I'll use it as part of the design when creating effects or placing typography.

Q: When we think of the word "ZEN" we usually envision more muted, natural tones and simple designs. The Zen Beauty Room’s design takes a 180 from that approach with bold colors, metallic paper & foiled accents. Can you describe how you came up with this concept and what were the design goals you had hoped to achieve?

Anytime I design I usually research first. Meaning for instance for "Zen" I research the origin of the word. Which has a buddhism origin. The principle colors involved in Buddhism are Blue, Black, White, Red, Green, and Yellow. I noticed that a lot of times yellow is substituted with gold, for example with gold Buddha statues.

Q: Why
metallic paper as opposed to a more natural looking stock?

I wanted to use gold foil to show that this company is part of an elite service. The foiling shows that if they put this much into the quality of their cards, they will also put that same quality into their services.

Q: Who or what would you say were your influences for this design?

For this particular design my influence would be the asian culture.

Q: What does the dripping gold foil on the front represent?

The dripping of the foil is just part of the companies logo. I just that it would be creative if it was dripping in gold as if it was going around the "Zen Butterfly".

Q: What design era would you say you are most influenced by?

I would say that my design influences are between Art Deco and Conceptual art. A design represented as modernism turned into fashion.

Q: How was your experience with Morning Print? Anything you’d like to see us add in the future?

I love working with morning print. After researching and trying your services, I believe they are by far the best printing service I've ever worked with.

Q: Any other thoughts/information you’d like people to know about Raymond Rudy?

I love studying film and different cultures. Along with having a Degree in Multimedia and Graphic Design, I also have a degree in fashion design, which can also been seen as an influence on my work.
