MorningPrint??s Design Team: ??This card has a nice and simple design. Alphonso seems to have a good understanding the printing process, especially to avoid colors not matching, he used a CMYK value of K50%,K60% for his grey, and point color value of C10%,M0%,Y100%,K32%. All text was converted to outlines, and an extra file was submitted file for Raised ink area denoted in K100%.??
Q : What is Kwikwit Sudio?
A : Kwikwit Studio is what I decided to call my freelance design company. I wanted a name that was catchy, but also told a little bit about my style of design. If you look up the word ??wit' in the dictionary, you'll see it defined as ??the ability to express, in an ingeniously humorous manner, the relationship between two seemingly incongruous things.?? When I think of ??wit' I think of a really clever quip or idea, so I used the definition as the basis of my logo. The light bulb and a splash of paint have nothing to do with one another, but together create a clever, interesting image that actually has meaning in this particular case.
Q : We think your design is wonderful. How did you make the light bulb image?
A : Thank you! I purchased a stock photo of a single light bulb. I've been working in Photoshop for about 12 years, so I took some images of different paint splatter patterns, shapes, and colors, and experimented with putting the paint INSIDE of the light bulb. I'm also looking into having clear plastic cards printed where the clear glass portion of the light bulb would be completely transparent.
Q : Where did the idea for the light bulb come from and does it have a meaning?
A : Everyone knows that classic image for ??idea' where a light bulb lights up above a man's head. For my logo, I decided to take that idea, and make it work for an artist's studio. Instead of lighting up, I liked the idea of the artist's paint being what illuminates the bulb to ??spark' that clever, witty, creative design that every client is looking for.
Q : The front of your design has no contact information, any specific reason for that?
A : Actually, the contact information is on the back of the business card. (URL, email address, and phone number) I really ended up loving the Photoshopped light bulb image on the front, so I didn't want to take away from it with any extra information. I'd like people to see the image, and be curious about it enough to want to learn more. If you turn the card over, all of the other information is there.
Q : How was your experience with MorningPrint?
A : I stumbled upon MorningPrint through Google. Initially, I wanted to create a clear plastic business card, and many of the card samples I saw on the website were printed really beautifully.
Q : Did you experience any difficulties when using MorningPrint.com, or find anything to be inconvenient or inefficient?
A : MorningPrint had a very quick turnaround and the print quality was outstanding. I wouldn't change a thing.
Q : Any additional comments for MorningPrint.
A : Keep up the good work! I'll be working with you guys again VERY soon!
